For many people (myself included), when we first start investing in makeup brushes, we may not be sure of the best way to use them. Sure, the box says what type of brush it is, however, knowing how to actually use it is another story. The Angled Blusher Brush, as opposed to a regular blusher brush, is no exception.
The slanted shape of an Angled Blusher Brush is designed to help you achieve a more precise application. The angle allows you to have more control over where exactly the blush is being applied. The soft, dense bristles allow for a more contoured look, which means this brush can also double as a contour brush! In fact, you can also use it for bronzers and highlighters, as well as liquids and creams due to the density of the bristles.
You’ll want to pay attention to the angle of the brush so you know how to hold it. First, you want to make sure that when you hold it up to your cheeks, the top of the angle (or the point) is facing angled towards your nose. You may think of this is as holding it with the point down. Next, for general blusher application, dab some blusher on the apples of your cheeks. Finally, once you’ve applied the blusher to the apples of your cheeks, gently blend it backwards without adding more blusher, so it fades to your temples. Otherwise, it may look to heavy and take away from a more natural look.
Remember: If you get too much blusher on the brush, tap off the excess amount. Do not blow on the brush. This can spread bacteria to your brush. In addition, it can cause skin irritations and breakouts. For more about this, check out my blog post, Top Tips for Your Makeup Brushes.
